As a follow up to our What Just Happened? Saints Row IV announcement article, we have decided to crank it up to 11, add Hell to the title for emphasis, and bring you even more insane footage from what could be the most ridiculous video game of all time.
Six minutes of gameplay was just released for the upcoming Deep Silver open-world title, Saints Row IV, and as you would expect, the game is completely off of its rocker:
Although I tend to enjoy more grounded titles, like GTA (that statement alone shows you how crazy this game is), Saints Row IV is extremely captivating from a gameplay perspective. There is a certain appeal to a game that allows the player to seamlessly proceed through a city, wreaking havoc in a highly satisfying and simplistic manner. This has to be very difficult to implement and execute, making what Deep Silver has accomplished as nothing less than extremely impressive.
The subject material may not be for everyone but when a game meets a certain level of polish and enables the player to truly explore the world in a way that is immersive, aesthetically pleasing and simply a blast to play, one can usually accept the absurdity and lose themselves in the experience.
I have little doubt that Saints Row IV will be one of the better titles of 2013, and am eager to start playing when it hits the PC on August 20th.
Are you excited for this campy, off the wall sandbox title, or do you prefer a more “realistic” experience? Let us know.
